Remarks

RISE Mzansi stands for the right of every South African to freedom and security, as enshrined in Section 12(1) of the Bill of Rights and Section 198(a) of the Constitution. However, the reality is stark: South Africans face high levels of violence, with nearly 27,500 murders in 2023 alone, and rampant gender-based violence and crime against children. RISE Mzansi's top priority is restoring safety by upholding the rule of law and fostering patriotism to combat lawlessness. We envision a society where all can live free from violence, in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

South Africa's current challenges are profound, with one of the highest murder rates globally and a pervasive culture of lawlessness. RISE Mzansi proposes a comprehensive approach to address these issues, including restoring trust in law enforcement, modernizing the criminal justice system, tackling root causes like inequality and unemployment, and fostering community-led solutions.
