Over the weekend, the RISE Mzansi National Leadership Collective (NLC) convened for a two-day special meeting in Johannesburg. As per the Interim Constitution, the NLC, entrusted with the affairs of RISE Mzansi, is currently the highest decision-making body. The agenda included compliance with the Electoral Commission’s (IEC) signature requirements and deliberation on 19 candidate lists for submission, including RISE Mzansi Premier Candidates for announcement soon. With 86 days until the elections, ensuring readiness for a compelling campaign was crucial.

RISE Mzansi has already met the IEC’s signature requirements, having successfully uploaded 112,018 signatures. The NLC also reviewed the lists from the Independent Nominations Committee (NomCom), confirming their submission by 8 March 2024. Premier Candidates for the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal were nominated, with announcements for these and other provinces upcoming.
